John 21:17
King James Version
On Valentine’s Day, we express our love to our loved ones by giving them gifts and cards. What are you going to give Jesus on Valentine’s Day? He needs to know that we love Him just as we need to know that He loves us.
There are so many people who are hurting and they desperately need to know that someone loves them. It doesn’t matter if they are hurting physically or emotionally, they need to know that someone cares. Even as I write this devotion, there are people who are thinking of committing suicide because the pain is too much and they can’t take it another minute.
O that you and I would love Jesus so much that we will shut off the television set and get out of our comfort zones. We must go to these people and tell them that Jesus loves them unconditionally. I am sixty six years old and nobody ever said to me “I love you” until August 14, 1980, when I invited Jesus into my heart to be my personal Saviour and He told me that He loves me.
No wonder Jesus asked Peter three times, “Lovest thou me”? Also, it’s not enough to tell people we love them, we must prove our love by our actions. Our words don’t mean anything unless we back them up with actions. Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone and prove to Jesus that you love Him by feeding His sheep? |
