Romans 5:8
King James Version
Charlotte Elliott wrote one of my favorite songs “Just as I Am”. These words describe the condition of my heart when I came to Jesus and invited Him into my heart to be my personal Saviour. “Just as I am, without one plea, But that thy blood was shed for me, And that thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come”.
I needed Jesus to save me because I was not good enough to go to Heaven. No one is good enough to go to Heaven. It is only when the precious blood of Jesus is applied to our hearts for the forgiveness of our sins that we are saved and have the privilege of going to Heaven.
There is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation. We can’t work for it and we can’t buy it. Salvation is a free gift to us but it cost Jesus everything, His life and His blood. Thank God for the precious cleansing and atoning blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all our sins.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the free gift of salvation that You provided for us through the redeeming blood of Your beloved Son. Jesus, thank You for loving us so much that You died for us. You are so precious and wonderful and I love You with all of my heart. Thank You for coming to me when I couldn’t come to You. Amen. |
